The question to life the universe and everything

Well most of us know and well those of us who don’t better know that the answer to the life the universe and everything is well, 42. For those intelligent souls that wish to ask 42?? What 42??? Well that is what the answer to the life the universe and everything is which is what the Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy tells us, that there is a theory about the universe that says that the only reason the universe still exists is because it is not completely understood, the moment the universe is completely understood poof it’ll be no more. Well if u actually come to think of it isn’t it the same thing with every other thing as well. As in, is it’s always the question that is the problem it is only because of questions that we exist if there were no questions then there would be no existence, now for example, we already have the answer to the life the universe and everything, its 42 everyone knows that, but what is the question to the life the universe and everything, to which the answer is 42? Similarly the curiosity the matter of interest remains only until we don’t understand, once we actually do understand something we tend to loose it, it doesn’t matter anymore, it in effect gets lost, poof.

Now taking the theory literally we would stop trying to find out about the universe because then it’d run out of existence but well its more like run out of attention, out of interest, out of sight and out of mind.

So now the question is this, what should we do? Do we stop looking for answers to questions? NO!!! the answer this time is literally a question, we are not to stop looking for answers we are to never stop looking for questions, because once the questions stop coming that is where the end lies.

Very interesting indeed... The very concept of the question disappearing when the answer is found is a good thing usually. That's the objective..to remove the question. but when the question is tht of life the universe and anything..well we don exactly want tht removed right.. maybe we shouldnty bother looking for the question.,. jus more answers.. cos we seem to be doing fine without the question huh? :P

well written...

@ divya: well that is what came to my mind when i started writing this blog post, but then as i was writing my mind began to wander and it actually took a very interesting turn, as u might have noticed in the conclusion, its not just about questions, in fact its about everything, the more u know or i think better put is the more u think u know a person the less interested u are in them, which is why people that dont change phase away, or people get bored with each other, thats because the scope of questions stop coming, if today u were to believe that constitutional law is done and over with for u, u kno it all there is nothing in the subject that u dont know, then well not saying that u would study it otherwise but you will never even venture into reading something on the subject because if there is something well it isnt new, cos u already know it. Now i wonder why i started talking about constitutional law but well, thats wht i meant when i said mind wanders, anyway thanks

now u know exactly why u started talking about constitutional law.. but that apart, ur right.. one should never think they fully know a person else they might jus lose interest.. thats a strange thing to derive from th answer to life the universe and everything but hey.. mind wanders ;)

i was just readin thru these comments n i was wondering... can u really ever know anyone or anything fully? i mean u cant even know urself fully ryt... so how cud u know neone else completely when they themselve dont really know themselves? :S

@ preeta - your absolutely right when u say that one can not know either themselves or others fully but there can always be the belief of knowledge. For example, newton thot he had found the solution to motion and his three laws were the be all and end all of motion in space and with that we would have been very happy to know those three law and nothing wud come of them, however Einstein un learned those three laws, believed that he did not know them and went on to show us that newton was not entirely correct. the point here being that the answers and questions are endless and we dont have to wry about those coming to an end, but it is our perception that the questions are over when the interest dies and fades away.
