With three years to go

Now I normally do not write about controversial things, I like to focus more along the realm of nonsense. Today however, I'm going to make an exception and write about politics and this is going to be a fairly serious post so if that isn't you're cup of tea you can stop reading here. You have been warned.

In the last many months the world has seen various tectonic changes in the political landscape and for a lot of these changes such as Brexit and Trump popular media seems to have gotten it wrong. Both these times I had expected those results. While I'm no saint or sage or seer I just think I was looking at something popular media seemed to have missed. Now I can't put a finger on what that was but since I hadn't officially predicted those results before they happened one can always argue that I was only explaining the events after the fact.

I've got a feeling about a political event that's going to occur in 2.5-3 years from now and I'd like to document it today. The 2019 general elections in India. Here's how I think it will go down.

In the next month or two the cash crunch will visible decline and there will be a fair number of notes in circulation. On the ground people will still have trouble changing Rs.2000 notes but they will get by. The larger economic impact will continue to be felt by small and medium enterprises and some may have to even close down. In the mean time there will be many reports of the Income Tax officials conducting raids and catching people will hordes of cash both in old currency and new. Most of these raids will be worth a few lakhs to a few crores but no really big fish will be caught, but the Govt. will spin these raids as being a net that no one holding black money can escape from. They will also take massive credit for each and every digital transaction done in India after 8 November 2016.

On the other political front, Mamta Banarjee and Arvind Kejriwal will lead a charge against the govt. claiming to be the only protectors of the common people. They might even form a coalition to fight the general election joined by a few other regional leaders like Nitish Kumar and they may even get a decent number of seats. My prediction however, is that the spin story and the marketing done by the BJP quite specifically Modi will continue to prevail and maybe with slightly fewer seats and maybe in a coalition of sorts, but BJP will return to power as the single largest party.

Around about the same time Delhi elections will happen and Kejriwal and his party will be thrashed out of power.

While those of you asking what about Congress and Rahul Gandhi, one of two things might happen to him, either he will go the Kejriwal way and complain about everything or he will continue to do what he's doing and continue to be irrelevant.

Naye Yaden

This is one of my few Hindi poems that are a little serious, I also saw this new feature that blogger has that lets u write in the script so here goes:

Last day of Education

Now neither is this poem mine nor is it from anywhere down my memory lane, this is a poem written by a senior of mine very recently and well again as the title goes this was written when he was passing out of college, there is a bit of relevance in relation to the earlier post so this piece just has to be here

Last day of education

Last day of education, last day of being student.

Last day of fun, last day of baking in sun.

Last day of our fights, last day of movie nights.

Last day of listening to none, last day of being one.

Last day of vodka shots, last day of attendance shorts.

Last day of joshi's Dal, last day of tolerating Dalal.

Last day of evening walks, last day of On the Rocks.

Last day of dean being wicked, last day of playing floor cricket... ....

live this last day to the fullest !

Last day at school

Hey, these days i'm in two new moods, one is going through a lot of old stuff that i had written a while ago and the other is i'm in the mood to blog so well putting two and two together i'm blogging about some of my older stuff, this is as the title suggests written during the last days of school, whenever i get charged with emotion poetry flows and thats how i guess this one came out

Last day at school

It's finally here this is the end
Now school is over and life will bend
The treasures of youth the magic of friends
The pleasures of jokes with tragic ends
The times we spent chatting to glory
With zealous passion we would tell a story
The time has passed, it has just flown by
And now I really don't want to say good bye
But oh alas we just have to move on
From students in 12th to follow the sun
But my heart says the end is not here
We will meet again far or near
Destiny has ment to keep us longer
And that's why friends have never bonded stronger
Together we leave on our paths with sorrow
Don't shed a tear you may meet tomorrow
With jokes in our ears and the sun in our eyes
We will be chatting again forgetting gone byes
Now coming to the end of this humongous rhyme
Lets wish each other good bye now is the time.

Times

Had Thought wrote poem,

Times

There are times u will always cherish

There are times when u will see

There are times u'l look back at and smile

There are times u'l remember me

There are times when the earth shall shatter

There are times when the sky will fall

There are times when its all going fine

There are times u'l feel 6 feet tall

There are times when there is no tomorrow

There are times when there was no past

There are times that define history

There are times meant to last

There are times that pass at breakneck speeds

There are times that take your breath away

There are times that test your every nerve

There are times that you just call it a day

There are times that fly by

There are times that do not crawl

There are times when we so really wish it,

but its only time that you can never stall.
